One of the simplest ways to make an impact on the future of oncology nursing and cancer care is through a planned gift designated in your will or living trust. Regardless of your age or wealth, your will is an important document through which you distribute your assets to family, friends, and charitable institutions about which you care.

The Foundation’s Legacy of Care Society recognizes, honors, and celebrates visionary individuals who have included a gift for the Foundation in their wills or estate plans and have made their generous gift intentions known through a legacy commitment.

“In my years of service on the Oncology Nursing Foundation Board of Trustees, and as its treasurer from 2016–2020, I learned in a very deep and moving way the critical role of oncology nurses in cancer care. The support, both present and future, of the work of oncology nursing became important to me, and it’s my privilege to donate to the Foundation each year. In addition, being a ‘financial guy,’ I have been able to put aside some decent funds for my retirement years. I know that withdrawals from those retirement funds, by me or by my family after I’m gone, will be taxed at a high rate. Thus, it made sense for me to name the Foundation as one of the beneficiaries of my retirement account, to support its mission while reducing the bite of taxes on my estate. That feels good all around!”
